Improve Productivity – Take a Holiday
September 11th, 2015
I’m back and I’m full of energy, enthusiasm, clarity and drive. Why? Because I’ve had a nice long break. This time I’ve taken a longer time out than just my 2 week holiday – but I needed it!
Just like the kids who have 6 weeks over the summer holiday to re-charge (or is that for the teachers to re-charge…?) the batteries; I gave my brain a rest and allowed it time to clear out the irrelevant junk that was bumping around in my head.
My batteries are full and September means back to work – a little over 3 months to year end and lots to do. This time I start the last quarter with clarity and a firm goal to keep me on track – doing what’s important and not being busy doing nothing.
Did you give yourself time off over the summer or were you the only one who didn’t have a holiday? Time to rectify that mistake – book a holiday now.
You can’t keep running on empty – time off is a necessity not a luxury. Without a break you will just become less and less effective and probably make yourself ill and then you’ll be forced to take time off.
No-one gets a badge for being a dead workaholic.
Actions:
- Take some time away from your business
- Clear the clutter from your head (Microsoft is doing that to my inbox now)
- Get some clarity about what you’re doing and why
- Re-charge your batteries – keep healthy
- Set the goals
- Focus on the important stuff
- Book your next holiday
