Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Five years ago, I penned a blog called My 30-Year Apprenticeship. It was in response to questions from prospects who wanted to know a little bit more about me, my experience and expertise.
Here we are in 2020 and I'm now able to write my 35-year apprenticeship. You might ask why? Well my answer is I am always learning. To me every day is a school day. I learn from my colleagues, my clients, prospects, influences, suppliers, my kids and a whole raft of global thought leaders, disruptors, innovators and contributors.
In many ways the blog I wrote five years ago is still as valid today as it was then, but the world has moved on. As I sit here in the middle of Covid 19 lockdown, it is quite clear that the ability to draw on past recessions and hard times will be key in helping my clients to get through this difficult period, ensure that they are ready with plans in place when the lockdown is lifted.
There is no doubt that the world is a very different place. During the lock downs we have learned a lot about ourselves, about each other, about different ways of working, about being able to do the things that we didn't think we could do. Our ability to find solutions to seemingly unsolvable or impossible problems.
We will look at the world in a different way. Hopefully with more compassion, more tolerance, more thoughtfulness, more mindfulness, more clarity, more urgency…. these changes will be difficult for some to understand and embrace. For others, the change orientated, will relish the challenge. Our ability to share our expertise and experience to help those who need help is much higher on everyone’s agenda than it was pre lockdown.
Like everyone I have taken the opportunity during lockdown to learn some new skills; many related to work but others to my leisure time. I am yet to master crochet although I continue to try! My garden is super tidy, and I have learned more about plants and the vegetables that I grow. I've learned to make and mend, building a new path with left over building materials. I'm making do with things that we have around us because we can't just nip to the shops anymore.
And today’s challenge is a TikTok video for a friends big ‘0’ birthday video. Wish me luck!
